The Senior Business Analyst is crucial in ensuring that the project is aligned with business strategies and that project outcomes are adopted successfully by the in-scope agencies. The Senior Business Analyst applies their analytical skills, business knowledge, and project management experience to help ensure the project achieves its intended business objectives.
Key Responsibilities of the role: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document the project scope, objectives, constraints, and deliverables.Conduct interviews, workshops, and other methods to gather detailed business and system requirements from stakeholders.Analyse and prioritise requirements, ensuring they align with the project objectives and deliver business value.Document the requirements in an appropriate format, which could include use cases, user stories, functional specifications, or business requirements documents.Keep stakeholders informed of project progress and manage their expectations regarding the project's progress and outcomes.Map out current and future business processes to identify necessary changes and improvements that the project should deliver.Work with the project manager, technical teams, and design teams to translate requirements into system features, functions, and processes.Assist the project manager with project planning tasks such as identifying task dependencies, project risks, and contributing to the creation of project timelines.Help manage changes to project scope, using structured change control processes.Work with the Project Manager to ensure that the delivered solution meets the agreed-upon requirements and quality criteria.Assist with the development of test plans, scripts, and the execution of user acceptance testing.Assist with developing training materials and conducting training sessions for users affected by system or process changes introduced by the project.Participate in post-implementation reviews to confirm that project benefits have been realised and to identify lessons learned for future projects.Key Competencies required for the role: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to dissect complex issues and develop effective solutions.High proficiency in business process modelling and analysis to map out current and future processes and identify areas for improvement.Ability to effectively elicit, document, and manage requirements to ensure that the project meets business needs.Adept at conducting meetings and workshops, and at drawing out information and consensus from diverse groups of stakeholders.Understanding of technology and its application in business to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate ideas, document findings, and present information to different audiences, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools to assist in planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of projects.Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments and to apply different approaches as needed.Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all aspects of the project work.This role closes at 8.00am on Monday 6th January.
