Established in 1996, City Plan is an industry leading specialist consultancy. With offices in Sydney, and the Gold Coast, we provide services in the area of Building Regulations, Private Certification, Accessibility and Heritage advice across all classes of buildings.
The company is currently dealing with numerous applications for multi-unit & mixed-use developments, aged care developments, retail & commercial fitouts, and we have recently been appointed to a number of exciting large scale, landmark projects in Sydney's CBD and south East Queensland. As such, we are needing to expand our Sydney building team with the successful candidate to play a major role in overseeing these projects.
The Position
This opportunity will appeal to suitably qualified and motivated Senior Building Surveyors, who are looking to expand their professional expertise through working on a range of exciting and complex projects across NSW and Australia. This is a permanent position which offers long-term career growth with diverse opportunities and is ideally suited to someone who is driven by the challenge of taking the business further, keen to create their own mark and is driven to move their own career forward.
We are looking for enthusiastic & competent employees who have experience in dealing with Fire Engineered Solutions for Class 2 – 9 Buildings and are able to work independently within a team environment.
The successful applicants will be expected to carry out all the standard roles of a Registered Certifier, Principal Certifier, BCA Regulations Consultant, and Building Surveying, including but not limited to:
BCA assessments, BCA reports & BCA consulting.
Fire Upgrade Reports & Strategies.
Assessing applications & issuing of Part 6 Certificates as required under the EP&A Act and Regulations.
Providing professional advice to clients on a range of BCA & legislative matters while maintaining and contributing to the valued reputable standards set by this organisation.
Other relevant duties, including Principal Certifier Services, including Critical Stage Inspections.
Provision of supervision and leadership for junior professional staff within the organisation.
Involvement and engagement in business improvement strategies.
In addition to this, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, pay attention to detail and provide a professional and courteous attitude when liaising with clients to focus upon and expand established client relationships. An ability to prioritise, implement instructions and complete tasks unsupervised and in a timely manner, as well as working as part of a team is highly regarded. Management & organisational skills are essential.
Please note: This role is not suitable for recent graduates or Building Inspectors (A4 certifiers).
Our assessment criteria for this position will include:
At least 5 years' industry experience.
Must hold registration with the Department of Fair Trading as a Registered Building Surveyor (unrestricted) or Registered Building Surveyor (restricted class 2-9) or have the capacity to attain this level of registration in the near future.
Excellent technical knowledge of buildings of all classes and types.
A demonstrated ability to assess performance solutions.
