The RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for someone with demonstrable knowledge of HVAC Control Applications, Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Management Systems to join the team at our office in Sydney,Australia.
We are seeking a Senior Building Automation Engineer experienced in the consultancy, design and construction of Critical Facilities and Smart Buildings to become part of our Building Automation team. The successful candidate will collaborate with all key stakeholders and also be involved in business development work to build the Cundall branding in the region. The ideal candidate will have leadership skills and a strong background in all aspects of Building Automation.A thorough understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems and IP networking is essential. This person shall be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills and be a self-starter that can excel with little direction.
Responsibilities:
Lead new project control engineering design, quality approval, process control, product evaluation, vendor proposals, evaluation of product reliability, automated testing, software, research and development.This position will be responsible for controls systems strategies, design and specifications.Collaborate with multiple teams across different disciplines.Drive project schedules while working closely with other disciplines to ensure milestones and completion dates are on track.Work simultaneously on multiple projects, in a team or independently with little to no oversight.Work closely with clients and subcontractors to provide support and technical guidance in building automationBe involved in the Business Development, Marketing and Sales effort to gain new business and build the Cundall brand name in the Australian marketThe SkillsEducation :
A Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Information and Communications Technology or equivalent;Demonstrate the successful management of projects and project teams;Demonstrable experience with DDC and PLC control system design, development and management;Experience in the design and/or implementation of Building Automation Systems (commercial offices and Data Center preferred);Experienced in implementing integrated BMS systems on converged networks;Conversant in IT cybersecurity requirements, IoT standards, Industry communication protocol etc.;Familiar with Internet of Things and Cloud Platforms preferred;Had experience and understanding with any ontology concept (such as IFC, HayStack, Brick, UDMI, etc) preferred;Experience with sales and business development skills would be idealHaving an existing client network for Building Automation would be highly regardedKnowledge of:
thermodynamics;psychometrics;electrical systems and schematics;mechanical systems and schematics;DDC and PLC architectures;BACnet protocol to include IP, ETH and MS/TP;Modbus protocol to include TCP, and RTU;Networking Servers and Client Workstations.Strong organisational and communicative skills are required.Ability to establish smooth working relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts.Candidate should be able to travel to the site locations across the world.Candidate must be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects in a team or independent environment.If you want to progress your career and design the systems and solutions that are implemented in the buildings of the future this could be the role for you.
