Job Description About the Opportunity: John Paul College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Boarding Supervisor to join us on a part-time basis in 2025 to oversee and support the day-to-day operations of our boarding facilities.
This role involves active supervision, medical and administrative duties, and fostering a positive environment for our diverse student body.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our boarding facilities, ensuring the well-being and safety of our students, and fostering a positive and inclusive community.
The Role of a Senior Boarding Supervisor at JPC: As a Senior Boarding Supervisor, you will be a key leader in our boarding community, responsible for the day-to-day operations and wellbeing of our students.
You will actively supervise and support the Boarding Supervisors, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and academic support are maintained.
Your role includes managing medical matters, overseeing administrative tasks, coordinating activities and events, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our diverse student cohort.
This role will work in a leadership team at Fenton Village (John Paul Colleges Boarding facility) working closely with the Head of Boarding and one other Senior Boarding Supervisor.
The key responsibilities will include:
Support Boarding Supervisors, ensuring high standards of care and support. Oversee the daily routines and activities of boarding students. Provide pastoral care and support to students, addressing their individual needs and concerns. Ensure the safety and security of the boarding facilities. Organize and coordinate extracurricular activities and events. Monitor and support academics. Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and school staff. Implement and enforce boarding policies and procedures. Handle disciplinary issues in a fair and consistent manner. Conduct regular inspections of boarding facilities to ensure cleanliness and maintenance. The regular schedule for this role will ensure you will be able to balance your personal commitments while you maintain a regular part time ( 35 hours) per week.
The days of work will be Monday to Friday (Inclusive) from 7am to 2:30pm during term time plus an additional 5 weeks per annum. Desired Skills and Experience About You: You are a committed professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a boarding house or youth activities.
You possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, and are capable of managing complex situations with confidence.
You are dedicated to student welfare, with a solid understanding of safeguarding practices, and are prepared to work flexible hours, including on-call and sleepover duties.
Essential qualifications include a current Senior First Aid certificate, Positive Notice Working with Children Check (Blue card), and an Open Manual Driver's license. Preferred qualifications include ABSA Duty of Care workshops and Bronze Medallion or Pool Deck Safety qualifications.
