About the role
Biosecurity Tasmania is looking for individuals interested in working in the animal welfare space.
The Senior Biosecurity Officer (Animal Welfare Stakeholder Engagement) is a newly established position that will support our commitment to safeguarding and improving animal welfare in Tasmania.
Undertake fieldwork, meeting with stakeholders, Tasmanian farmers and producers, and peak bodies.
Work directly with industry to provide information, support and deliver key biosecurity projects.
Ensure stakeholders have up to date and accurate information on current biosecurity developments and regulatory activities.
Provide input into the development of policies, standard operating procedures, and plans.
Facilitate industry meetings and/or events and other community-based activities.
This position will require working in often intense and emotionally challenging environments including abattoirs, in the interest of animal welfare.

Hours per fortnight: 73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours, by negotiation).

Tertiary qualifications relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider.
