Within the Content Group, you'll be joining the Content Experience team. Our goal is to ensure that all enterprise and team Canva users can can confidently and effectively leverage our content library in a workplace environment.
About the Role: In the Content Experience team, we're working to deliver on the core company strategy of Empowering every Enterprise. While we're a nimble team that shifts our focus area as needed, our current primary goal is building out a new and exciting new user facing product surface; Work Kits. Work Kits is the home of industry-first content within Canva, providing a central hub to help industry professionals quickly and easily find the right templates and content to get their most important jobs done fast (and in style). Additionally, our team is responsible for 'Profile' pages, the surface through which Canva 'Creators' and brands can show-off their templates and elements.
What you'll do (responsibilities) You'll work closely with other engineers, playing a critical role in the entire software development lifecycle, from technical design through to implementation, deployment and maintenance. You'll use your technical know-how and experience to drive success in our projects, and proactively push the continuous improvement of our processes and products. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional team members, including designers and product managers, to align on project goals and milestones and ensure smooth and effective project execution. You'll use your understanding of the wider business context and goals to drive You'll guide and mentor more junior peers, sharing your knowledge to educate and up-skill fellow team members through regular code reviews and knowledge sharing opportunities. You'll be a true team advocate, communicate our goals and achievements to the wider group and organisation, and helping ensure our team wins are recognised and celebrated. What we're looking for We're looking for a passionate and experienced backend engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited by the challenge of building robust, scalable systems to empower users around the world. You'll have a strong foundation in backend development, with a keen eye for code quality, reliability, and security. Your motivation lies in not just writing excellent code, but also in driving strategic opportunities and mentoring your peers to elevate the entire team.
You'll be a great fit for the role if: You have strong proficiency in Backend development, with experience developing high availability, large scale services. You have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals - concurrency, data structures & algorithms with experience applying these fundamentals to practical applications. You have familiarity with AWS Cloud infrastructure and services, such as EC2, EKS and Terraform. You have experience working with database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and proficiency in SQL. Ideally, you'll have worked in a product-facing team, with experience collaborating with various partners such as product managers, designers, technical program managers data analysts, and other business functions outside of engineering.
