We thrive in the unknown and are always looking for opportunities to make something of nothing.As the Senior Avionics Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day avionics engineering tasks within a CAMO organization, including managing airworthiness, identifying and prioritizing fleet issues and developing corrective actions to enhance safety, operational performance, and efficiency of aircraft avionics systems.You will also be involved in developing and delivering fleet modification projects by creating project documentation, assessing vendor proposals, and coordinating with stakeholders and vendors to achieve project milestones and objectives. In addition, you will manage Aircraft Controlled Software (ACS) by collaborating with other departments to support the creation, design, and distribution of software, including ACMS and AOC development, SITA/ACARS integration, and other related initiatives. As a Senior Engineer, you will provide professional engineering advice, exercise mature judgment, handle complex assignments, and potentially contribute original solutions, modify established guidelines, or establish new approaches to engineering challenges.You'll HaveProfessional Engineering degree qualifications in Avionics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace or equivalent as recognised by Engineers Australia.Experience developing or approving engineering instructions for Avionics repairs and modifications to Airbus or Boeing aircraft.Understanding of ACS as aircraft components (certification, configuration, part control, defect investigation, cyber security aspects).Functional understanding of software engineering tools.Experience with project management preferred.Highly developed skills in problem solving and analytical thinking.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.Proven organizational and communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical information clearly and concisely.Why Qantas?You'll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged.
