Our Group Audit and Assurance (GA&A) team are the internal audit function for the Group.
Their primary purpose is to provide independent and objective assurance of the effectiveness of the Groups risk management, controls and governance processes.

Evolving customer expectations and pace of change require GA&A to support the business with new insights and risk coverage that puts customers first and to continue to provide insightful assurance to the Board.

GA&A has increasingly embedded digital assurance into audit activities, injecting Artificial Intelligence (AI) into routine control testing and using digital tools to improve the overall experience for employees.
The next phase of our transformation is enabling continuous, data driven assurance across the 3LoA.

The Retail Banking Services (RBS) audit team is responsible for auditing across the largest retail bank in Australia and covers a range of products and services.
The team covers a number of key divisions including Home Buying, Customer Engagement and Digital, Bankwest, Wealth and Private, Customer Service Network, Customer Service Direct, Consumer Finance, Customer Service Lending, Everyday Banking and the Chief Controls Office.
The RBS audit team are a key part of the broader CBA Audit and Assurance department with opportunities to work on a range of other audits across the Group.

Do work that matters

As a Senior Audit Manager in the RBS audit team, you will play a pivotal role within Group Audit and Assurance, focusing on Operational and Credit Risk in the Retail Bank, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards such as those provided by APRA and ASIC.

Leading the development and execution of the internal audit plan focused on RBS, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall audit strategy and risk management framework.

Conducting risk-based audits to assess the effectiveness of RBS controls.

Ensuring audits align with local and international regulatory requirements and standards.

Collaborating with Line 1 and Line 2 teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to RBS audits.

Drafting issues and agree factual accuracy and ratings with the Internal Audit Executive Manager and the key stakeholders, as required.

Preparing simple, pragmatic and easy to read audit reporting, including audit reports and issue logs.

Supporting the QA Program as required and address feedback quickly and effectively.

Utilising analytics during audits/reviews, to drive audit efficiency and deeper insights (i.e.
analytics lead-in reviews and KRI monitoring to drive audit scope and targeted audit testing).

Presenting audit findings to stakeholders, including senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Participating in RBS related risk committees as a strong representative of the GA&A function.

Ensuring that corrective actions are appropriately designed, implemented, and effective in mitigating identified risks.

Fostering a strong culture of Operational and Credit risk awareness within the audit team and across the business.

Supporting training programs and awareness initiatives related to Operational and Credit risk and contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal audit processes.

Maintaining strong relationships with the GA&A leadership team, Regulators and External Audit to gain input and buy-in to strategic initiatives.

Other qualities you may possess include

Strong experience of Internal Audit and compliance frameworks.

Preferred managerial experience of SME audit teams.

Excellent project management and organisational skills to deliver across multiple competing and time-bound priorities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts using simple language.

Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.

Previous internal audit experience is necessary.
