Senior Associate – Tax Disputes
Smart Tax Search is proud to be working with a large, international Law Firm with a fabulous Global reputation for technical excellence and an award-winning litigation practice.
Working directly with high-profile Partners, they are looking to hire an experienced Tax Lawyer with a focus on Disputes. You will also have exposure to other areas of corporate dispute work and a wide variety of clients from different industry sectors.
Work closely with pre-eminent disputes partners and senior lawyers across the group, you will have the following responsibilities;
You will work as part of the general commercial litigation group with a particular focus on Tax and Regulatory disputes as well as other complex and strategic disputes. Undertake a range of work that supports local, national and international clients. Advise clients in every industry sector including banking and insurance, mining and energy, technology, pharma and private equity. Take responsibility for contributing to an excellent client service, handling files, identifying issues and proactively providing solutions Play an important role in projects to further develop business opportunities with existing and new clients Be a key member of a highly motivated and innovative team and work with colleagues in interstate and international offices. You will have extensive client exposure and opportunities to develop a network of relationships. You will benefit from exceptional learning opportunities working in a team of highly ambitious and collaborative lawyers.
Skills, attributes & education of the successful candidate:
Demonstrable experience in delivering technical advice on a range of tax and/or commercial litigation matters from a leading law firm, a Big4 Accounting firm, the ATO or a large corporate environment; Ideally have 5-8 years' legal experience, however we are open to considering candidates; A strong academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset; A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of a leading and supportive team; An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously; Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate collegiality within a team; Have a hunger to learn and develop, and be part of maintaining a market-leading practice.
