About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SeniorAssociate/Special Counsel to join our well-regarded GovernmentAdvisory team. Working alongside Partner Mark Henry and the widerteam, this role will focus on supervising and mentoring a team ofhigh performing lawyers in undertaking merits review for aCommonwealth Government agency.
This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team andassist in the supervision of a high performing practice. Day to dayyou will have the following responsibilities:
Finalising litigation strategies and statements ofissuesConducting directions hearings and case conferencesManaging substantive hearingsSolicitor advocacy at hearings and finalising briefs toCounselUndertaking complex statutory interpretation.About you In order to be considered for this role, you will have thefollowing skills and experience:
At least 8+ years post qualification experience, ideallywith experience in government advisory work andlitigation.Strong solicitor advocacy experience and expertise.Experience leading a team and mentoring team members withexcellent communication skills and a collegiate approach.You may have a background of working in government and bekeen to make your first move into a law firm. Alternatively,you will be doing similar work in another firm and looking fora new opportunity.In turn, you will have the opportunity to join a well-regardedteam with exposure to complex and high-profile work.
