Our Water team promotes holistic, sustainable water resource management for governments, investors, developers, manufacturers, utilities, and corporations, helping with network maintenance and development, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and future-ready strategies.Due to the continued growth of our Water Business Group, our Water Asset Management & Planning Team is seeking experienced Planning Engineers to join us in Queensland (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast).What you'll doProduce/Lead Technical Assessments: Conduct assessments of water supply and sewerage networks for growth, compliance, performance improvement, and renewals. This includes strategic and master planning, options assessments, feasibility investigations, detailed planning projects, and business case preparation.Support Asset Management: Contribute to asset management and strategy development functions, working with key clients across Australia.Manage Projects: Lead and undertake key technical tasks across a broad range of high-profile water infrastructure projects.Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Lead client and stakeholder workshops.Technical Reporting: Prepare well-written technical reports on medium to large projects and prepare proposals on medium to large projects.Team Coordination: Supervise and coordinate project team members to achieve project outcomes and meet client objectives and expectations.Industry Participation: Participate in industry associations.SHEQ Compliance: Comply with all role-specific Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) obligations.Joining our team, you will have experience in leading the delivery of efficient and effective engineering consultancy services to public and private sector clients, including the preparation of client-focused proposals. You will be proficient in:Educational Background: Holding a recognised Bachelor's Degree (Engineering) or equivalent.Professional Status: Chartered status (CPEng) is an advantage.Proven local experience in water engineering, with previous consultancy experience highly desirable.Hydraulic Principles: Understanding and implementing hydraulic principles, including some experience in hydraulic modelling.Network Planning: Planning water supply and sewerage networks and understanding their operation.Project Management: Knowledge of project management, including managing the scope of multiple projects and leading resources.Applying analytics techniques and using decision support methodologies such as MCA, risk assessments, opportunities and constraints, and cost-benefit analysis.Preparing and delivering effective and engaging presentations and workshops.Leading project scoping and proposal development and developing and maintaining client relationshipsIdentifying risks in medium to large projects.Using GIS and Excel to interrogate and assess data.Preparing reports and maps.About WSPWSP is one of the world's leading engineering professional services firms, bringing together approximately 6,000 talented people across 15 offices in Australia.
