About the role We are currently looking for a capable Senior Associate (1-2 years' experience as a Senior Associate) to join the Melbourne Property team, working alongside Partner Clare Batrouney.
This is a great opportunity to develop your practice further and work within a busy and high performing team. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the partner and wider team across a range of matters. The group works with a mix of clients across private and public sector, including state government departments and agencies, local councils, corporates, institutions and developers.
Key responsibilities will include: Reviewing, drafting and negotiating property-related agreements including contracts, leases, licences, development agreements, section 173 agreements.Providing comprehensive advice to public and private sector clients across a broad range of commercial property transactions.Representing public sector clients in public procurement processes for the sale, lease or redevelopment of public land.Advising land owners in relation to the development of land including advising on development agreements.About you In order to be successful in this role you will have the following:
Broad-ranging property experience working as a Senior Associate in a commercial property or real estate team within private practice (6+ PQE).Strong academics, exceptional written and verbal communication.Clear and concise drafting skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver legally sound solutions.Proven track record in drafting and reviewing contracts of sale, leases and other property-related agreements.Experience with public sector clients preferred but not essential.Ability to manage competing deadlines, a high volume of matters and taking responsibility for those matters.Adopt a client-centric and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a large team.Be able to support partners with team development including mentoring junior team members and business development activities.Be comfortable managing a high volume of matters and taking responsibility for those matters.Furthermore, you will be looking for your next challenge in a supportive team environment where you can grow and develop your career and be involved in engaging and interesting work.
