How will I help?
Westpac Institutional Bank manages the financial needs of corporate, institutional and government clients. We are a leading provider of wholesale banking services in the area.
As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will be a part of the Project Finance team, which supports the origination and execution of Project Finance transactions. The Westpac Project Finance team is considered a leader in financing renewable energy projects and infrastructure and PPP transactions within the Australian market. The role offers the opportunity to work on high profile nation-building infrastructure projects and to work on transactions that support the growth of Australia's renewable energy and transition metal industries (in line with Westpac's recent Net Zero Banking Alliance commitment).
You will support the origination and execution of Project Finance transactions by evaluating the credit quality of complex debt transactions across the Power & Renewables, Infrastructure & PPP and Natural Resources sectors.
Key aspects of the role will include:
Evaluation and analysis of complex financial models
Compiling credit papers, RFP submissions, pitches and sector research and business development materials
Evaluation of technical, market, legal, insurance, financial and other due diligence.
Coordination of workstreams with relationship managers, syndications, risk, financial markets, portfolio teams and other internal/ external stakeholders
What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience in an analytical position within a banking, equity, or consulting/advisory role, working on Project Finance or similar complex debt transactions. Candidates with a legal or engineering background in the Project Finance sector may also be suitable.
You must have the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures. You will be able to work to tight timeframes in a deal-driven environment and will have a working knowledge of debt structures and products.
Some further advantageous skills:
Financial and/or credit analysis skills
Experience with Project Finance or complex debt transactions
Experience within the renewable energy, infrastructure and/or natural resources sectors
Strong cash flow modelling skills
Refined communications skills, both written and verbal
