A short-to-medium track topartnership will be considered for the right candidate.This rolewill focus primarily on the defence of personal injury claimsacross public and product liability. You will be responsiblefor and have carriage of your own files, with appropriatesupervision and support.KeyresponsibilitiesYou will beinvolved in a variety of matters including:reviewing documents andpreparing evidence;draftingcorrespondence to the Court and third parties;conference withwitnesses and preparing witness statements;supervising andmentoring junior lawyers;preparing briefs forcounsel;draftingCourt documents and attendance at Court;draftingclient advices; anddraftingletters of instruction to experts.Skills andexperienceWe are keento hear from candidates with the following skills andexperience:aminimum of five years of post admission experience in insurancelitigation;ideallyyou will have experience with defendant personal injury claims,specifically within general liability (however we are also opento candidates with a plaintiff background);clear,concise legal writing skills with strong attention todetail;theability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers; andagenuine interest in leading and contributing to the growth andsuccess of our Canberra general liability practice.AboutusHall &Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
