This role reports to the Head of Investment Strategy, Australia, and involves assisting with developing investment strategy, portfolio construction, macroeconomic and dynamic asset allocation content and advice for WTW's broad client base.
The role provides an excellent opportunity for someone to further develop their investment management skills and allows direct engagement with clients, asset managers and industry bodies.
The Role Leading on the production and delivery of our macroeconomic research efforts for clients in Australia and New Zealand.Providing associated dynamic asset allocation (DAA) advice based on that research to our delegated and advisory client base.Assisting the strategy team with undertaking investment strategy reviews on WTW's client portfolios.
This includes analyzing client beliefs, objectives, and constraints, and providing appropriate medium- and long-term portfolio strategy advice.Working with experienced client-facing consultants and analysts to provide high-quality investment advice and implementation to institutional clients, including superannuation funds, redundancy and long service leave schemes, insurance companies, private wealth, endowments and foundations.Communicating our advice and views to clients through various mediums (e.g.
reports, verbal presentations to investment committees, video recordings, etc.
)Collaborating with the global sustainability team to help clients adapt to the challenges posed by climate change and other sustainability-related risks and opportunities.Supporting and mentoring junior team members while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive culture.Developing technical knowledge of investments across asset classes, WTW investment processes, other house views, and best practices through on-the-job learning, internal and external training, and access to further study and mentoring.Thinking creatively in the development of new content, tools, and approaches to keep us at the forefront of best practice.Engaging with and establishing professional relationships with various industry participants, including boards, investment committees, fund executives and investment managers.Building strong relationships internally and collaborating effectively on cross-functional teams.Contributing to a collaborative and inclusive culture. QualificationsThe Requirements 3-5 years relevant experience (exposure to investment advisory or asset management is favorable but not essential).A university degree in an area that has helped you develop your analytical and communication skills (such as commerce, finance, science, or engineering).Strong technical skills, particularly in quantitative modelling; coding proficiency in Python, R or a similar language is an advantage.Strong project management and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients and contribute positively to the wider Investments team culture.The ability to utilize your written and verbal communication skills to formulate and present recommendations clearly and concisely.Adaptability, a fast-learning mindset, reliability, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.A willingness and ability to learn and upskill across an evolving landscape and new emerging practices.Excellent ability to communicate ideas to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders through various mediums (reports, presentations, video recordings, etc.
).Demonstrated interest in investments and a desire to deepen knowledge over time.Progress towards (or commitment to) completing further relevant study, such as CFA or actuarial qualifications (for which WTW provides generous support).A passion for investing today for a more sustainable tomorrow.
