You will be tasked with the delivery of innovative and effective technical solutions to both internal and external clients, while being well supported across our business, with skilled resources in other sections. Geotechnical & Tunnels Across Australia WSP employs a 400+ strong team of geotechnical, geological and tunneling consultants. Our WA Geotechnical team is the state's largest geotechnical team and consists of passionate and experienced staff, operating from offices in Perth CBD. Our unique, specialised and future-ready skills help address the ever-evolving challenges that earth, environment, and energy present daily.
What you'll do Your passion and technical expertise will be deployed across a number of diverse projects, exposing you to various industries, such as transport, mining, renewable energy, property and buildings, and also government sectors. This will further continue the growth of an already successful and reputable capability. Our geotechnical capability thrives on managing our clients' ground-related risks and contributes to getting their projects safely and economically out of the ground – you'll do this in an innovation-inspired community of geotechnical and geological staff.
Technical support will be provided by our Principal, Executive and Director staff, located locally, nationally and globally. A typical day-to-day would look like, but not be limited to:
Designing, undertaking and managing geotechnical investigation projects from proposal preparation to fieldwork, analysis, and reporting. Performing desktop studies, fieldwork and laboratory scheduling for our geotechnical investigations. Using the results of our investigations, you will use your interpretation and analysis skills to deliver designs that contribute to geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects across the sectors in which we operate. Supporting our clients during the construction of their projects to ensure our designs are built according to the design intent. Supporting our nationally recognised experts in the delivery of geotechnical services to manage our clients' ground risk and support infrastructure development. Working closely with your geotechnical colleagues and other disciplines throughout project delivery. Driving business development through successful delivery of your projects. Promoting a safe working culture by identifying and eliminating safety hazards. About You You will bring the following qualifications and experiences:
A civil engineering or Geotechnical degree, or related degree. Post graduate qualifications in a geotechnical related field will be considered favourably. CPEng or an intention to be working towards chartered status. A successful track record in undertaking and Project Managing field investigations for small to medium sized geotechnical projects. Willingness to spend time in the field collecting high-quality geotechnical data (either through site investigation, mapping or construction phase services). A proven track record of promoting innovation in the field of geotechnical engineering to create value for our clients and projects. Demonstrated experience in the preparation of written technical reports and client communications. Demonstrated experience in geotechnical design including soil/structure interaction. Exposure and experience with software packages such as Plaxis, Rocscience Slide, Settle3, RSPile or Wallap would be considered favourably. A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment. Ability to take responsibility for geotechnical investigation and design delivery in multidisciplinary environments, as a geotechnical Design Manager.
