Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Associate to join their Financial Lines/Directors & Officers team. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) and a strong background in financial lines, directors and officers liability, and related insurance law. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, providing expert legal counsel and support to a diverse range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice on financial lines and directors and officers (D&O) liability matters. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client needs. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including policies, contracts, and agreements. Represent clients in complex litigation and dispute resolution processes related to financial lines and D&O liability. Advise clients on regulatory compliance, risk management, and insurance coverage issues. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for their legal needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated legal solutions. Lead due diligence processes for corporate transactions involving D&O liability considerations. Monitor and analyse legal developments and industry trends to provide proactive advice to clients. Prepare and present detailed legal opinions, memoranda, and reports to clients and stakeholders. Participate in client meetings, offering strategic insights and expert legal perspectives. Provide training and mentorship to junior associates and support staff. Manage project timelines and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality legal services. Assist clients in navigating complex regulatory environments and liaising with regulatory bodies. Engage in firm-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in the Financial Lines/Directors & Officers practice area.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognised university. Admission to the Australian legal practice as a solicitor. 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in financial lines, directors and officers liability, and related insurance law. Proven track record in handling complex litigation and dispute resolution. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate legal concepts into practical advice. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities. Collaborative and adaptable mindset. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
