Day-to-Day Overview.In this role, success isn't just about hitting billable targets. It's about providing compassionate and excellent client service, providing clarity and peace of mind for clients, and efficient resolutions. Your focus will be on building strong relationships and independently running your files.
Key responsibilities include:
Being responsible for a wide variety of matters, including amicable separation and complex litigation.Advising on, drafting, and negotiating complex financial agreements;Building relationships and providing the kind of service to clients that gets you 5-star client reviews;Conducting conferences with new enquiries, establishing a high rate of client conversions and retention;Supervising our independent & talented Associate, building a partnership based on mutual respect & a shared commitment to delivering the best for our clients.Business development and networking.We are a modern firm, embracing technology to achieve efficiency in our workflows. While our solicitors handle their own correspondence, our experienced Assistant is on hand to ensure you're not overwhelmed by paperwork.

Experience in handling complex family law matters, including property and parenting cases (with the required qualifications & registrations of course);Advocacy experience, with court appearance experience highly desirable;A client-focused mindset, with a continuous improvement approach towards client service;A passion for guiding junior team members;Alignment with the values of a Collaborative Practice approach;More than anything, you're a person who values relationships—whether that's building a solid foundation with clients or working in harmony with your team.

What we value.With two female directors each bringing over 15 years of experience, Romer Maud has been in operation for 5 years, and is now one of the leading family law firms in the Central Victoria region, as well as having offices in the legal district in Melbourne. We're more than just lawyers though—we're a well-connected team that values each other's time and skills. Whilst we're mostly remote, we meet in person once a week to strengthen these relationships and to have some fun together.
