Senior Associate Data Scientist You are curious, enthusiastic and passionate to build advanced ML models. Together we will deliver state of the art solutions that enable effective risk management across the Group! Do work that matters: In this role, you will contribute to design, development and implementation of cutting edge AI solutions to accelerate Tech modernization, SDLC and uplift customer experience. You will work closely with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure best customer and business outcomes.
You will come with a strong business acumen along with demonstrable experience in using AI and machine learning and will be part of a high-performing team of data scientists to deliver high quality solutions leveraging machine learning, statistical modelling, and generative AI.

Technology is responsible for the information technology systems for the Group, including information management. We are a part of the Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) team that is responsible for leading the delivery of world-class data, analytics and technology capabilities to improve the financial well-being of our customers and communities. The Technology Data Science team supports different areas within Technology space such as Retail Technology, Business Bank Technology, Fraud management, Cyber Security, Tech Chief Controls Office etc.
As a community, our data scientists have diverse backgrounds and industry experience, with state-of-the-art machine learning research and development expertise, and in-depth knowledge of structured and unstructured data in the Bank. We are open-minded, curious and passionate about problem solving and data driven innovation at scale. In CBA we collaborate with universities and start-ups, hold regular knowledge sharing, technical training and external talks which aid in growing the data science community and industry reputation.

We're interested in hearing from people who have: Experience in Model development including understanding the value of industry leading models. Awareness of the end-to-end delivery of advanced models and Gen AI solutions, from translation of business problem to a technical solution and manipulation of large and complex data assets through to advanced and automated model management. Passion for working across a broad range of business challenges and data, from improvements and optimisation in existing processes to green-field problem spaces, in a transparent and risk aware manner. Tech skills: Tertiary qualifications, with above average academic achievements, in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, econometrics, actuarial science, engineering and data science. A solid foundation in applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniques is essential. Programming skills in Python, SAS and SQL, and manipulation of large and complex datasets, Machine / Deep Learning / Gen AI / Natural Language Processing. Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, Spark, Hive), data analysis tools (R, Python) and data integration techniques. Experience with AWS/ Azure services. Solid time management and prioritisation skills. Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, including ability to interpret and report complex material and make sound recommendations to a range of stakeholders. Familiarity with software engineering and keen build AI tools to accelerate SDLC.
