The Sydney Ecology team are seeking their newest member!

We are keen on speaking to botanists from a range of experience with the confidence and ability to hit the ground running in a busy environment.
Responsibilities You will be confident in your technical ability and have a positive attitude to do the following tasks: Providing high quality service and advice in your area of expertise to clients and colleagues, in both office based and fieldwork activities Participate and lead field survey programs focused on flora and vegetation surveys, including targeted surveys and vegetation mapping of plant community types, in a diverse range of environments across NSW Analysis of botanical data and preparation of clear, concise technical reports; Interpretation and application of environmental legislation to projects across a variety of different sectors Integrating your technical work into multidisciplinary assessments and project teams Make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions and decisions and prepare reports outlining the findings of these studies Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff Travel to remote areas to conduct field survey programs Preparing tenders and proposals Assisting in the development and implementation of team business plans and strategies Skills and experience The successful candidate must have: An appropriate tertiary qualification in Botany, Ecology, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or in another related field; 5+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or other equivalent role, entailing undertaking ecological surveys and report production Ability to identify flora in NSW by sight and using keys BAM accreditation preferred, working towards accreditation with experience preparing/contributing to Biodiversity Assessment Reports ('BARs') also considered Experience in the design and implementation of flora surveys and monitoring programs Strong data analysis, report writing and computer skills Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects Our Benefits We are proud of our unique culture where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
