In this full-time permanent role, you will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery including proposal preparation, leading fieldwork, laboratory work, data analysis and report writing as well as mentoring our keen junior freshwater ecologists. This role offers the opportunity to work as part of a highly motivated team of technical specialists who are truly passionate about Aquatic Ecology.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be confident in your technical ability and have a positive attitude to do the following tasks:Contribute your technical leadership skills in aquatic environmental services and be recognised for your specialist knowledge.Laboratory experience i.e. sorting, enumeration, identification, sample preparation etc.Design, lead and contribute to projects across freshwater environments, in order to achieve timely and high-quality outcomes.Technical report writing.Undertake aquatic/water quality fieldwork in remote areas.Skills and experienceThe successful candidate must have:Relevant bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field, with specialised study in freshwater ecology desirable.5 years' experience as either an aquatic ecologist, biologist, zoologist or water quality specialist – with knowledge of scientific data collection in aquatic ecosystems.Excellent data analysis skills using uni- and multivariate techniques, and proven ability to prepare reports to a high standard.Experience in project management including budgeting and client liaison from project inception to completion.Drivers Licence is essential and candidates without this will not be considered.Experience in macroinvertebrate identification to species level will be favoured.An enthusiastic and dedicated approach.Our BenefitsWe are proud of our unique culture where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
