About the RoleIn this 10-month Fixed Term role, reporting to the Manager of Service Enablement Water Treatment, as the Senior Asset Manager you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and driving the implementation of programs within the asset portfolio(s) and discipline(s) in collaboration and alignment with the broader business.
This role will see you:
Effectively manage infrastructure assets in collaboration with peers to deliver and optimise capital programs, maintenance regimes, and provide asset management and technical expertise for the asset portfolio specific to civil / mechanical / electrical assets across the Water Treatment portfolio.Build and maintain positive customer and stakeholder relationships including providing technical advice to Service Delivery (Operations and Maintenance) in a collaborative way.Seek efficiencies through implementation of new technologies or alternative approaches where direct benefits can be achieved.Carry out assigned Asset Management tasks in line with Asset Management processes and procedures including but not limited to maintenance strategy determination, condition monitoring of assets, responding to technical queries, root cause analysis, registering assets in Maximo.Initiate and develop business cases for capital projects in line with Melbourne Water's capital management system.Provide support to the project during the development, delivery and handover stages.Detailed knowledge of Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Process Engineering and operational complexities of water and sewerage transfer and treatment plants.Experience in asset management of water and/or sewerage assets in the relevant disciplines.Senior technical capability and leadership in the field of Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Process Engineering with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.Well-developed knowledge and proven application of technical and general risk management processes and techniques related to large and medium scale infrastructure.Ability to critically explore and analyse solution options and evaluate consequences of different risk scenarios and implement appropriate cost-effective risk management techniques.Strong interpersonal skills together with excellent verbal and written skills.Demonstrate initiative and ability to prioritise and perform complex professional/technical work with limited supervision and exercise professional/technical judgement.Demonstrated and proactive Health & Safety leadership and a personal commitment to Health & Safety procedures, policies and plans.Minimum RequirementsAn active engineering registration in a related discipline (i.e. civil, mechanical/electrical) relevant to the position is required.
