Join QBuild for an exciting career opportunity as a permanent Senior Architect to provide a high level of architectural services to QBuild.
QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing architectural services.
Key responsibilities: Leading, planning and managing assigned projects to meet the business unit's commercial goals.Performing the role of experienced architectural practitioner by providing high quality professional expertise in all aspects of the business unit's professional services.Providing a high level of architectural expertise and technical capabilities in the coordinated delivery of projects, by multidisciplinary professional teams, within the time and financial requirements of the commercial business unit.Preparing terms of reference and assisting with the commissioning of external consultants for capital works building projects, monitoring their performance, and reviewing their workReviewing variations and claims for additional fees submitted by external consultants and providing advice on their validity and extent.Undertaking the role of Project Architect or Principal Consultant on projects, as assigned to the position, including projects for Social Housing clients.Assisting with the use and integration of new technological advancements in the delivery of professional services within the department.Embracing innovative methods and techniques in passive building design.Conversing with techniques and construction methodologies for the cost-effective layout, functional planning and spatial organisation of high quality, value for money buildings.Assisting and commissioning of external consultants in the application of the Design Standards and Guidelines of the client agencies and client's direction in value for money and environmental sustainability initiatives.Representing the interests of client agencies/ departments in situations involving consultant commissions, auditing of documentation, and on-site construction phases to ensure project feasibility and design reflects client requirements.Supporting the architectural team leadership by actively meeting and contributing to team and organisational objectives.Mandatory Requirement - Registration as an Architect in the state of Queensland, in accordance with the requirements of the Architects Act of 2002.How do I to apply?
