The Opportunity:   After the substantial growth and success of our Archaeology business offering across Australia, we are now bringing our esteemed services to Melbourne!
This exciting new chapter presents an opportunity for an experienced Senior Archaeology Consultant to join our expanding team.
In this role you will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Archaeology principles and legislative requirements, to undertake historic and/or Aboriginal archaeology.
This includes undertaking and leading field work and preparing high-quality archaeological assessments to provide both technical and strategic advice to our clients.
You will:   Lead consultation and fieldwork in accordance with the relevant legislative guidelines and protocols.
Demonstrate high-level research, interpretation, report writing and communication skills.
Direct and assist more junior staff with assessments.
Assist in the undertaking of projects, client and other stakeholder relationships and work to specification and deadlines.
Work alongside other professionals on a range of multi-disciplinary projects, working to specification, deadlines, budget and with a commercial outcome.
Work across a wide range of applications to develop proposals, tenders & submissions for potential projects.
Promoting the firm and its services to create business opportunities.
About You:   Tertiary qualifications in archaeology; and 6+ years of demonstrated experience and strong track record with a similar role at similar level Must be an approved Heritage Advisor as defined in the Aboriginal Heritage Act (2006) Demonstrates a proficient understanding of and ability to apply statutory heritage legislation, principles and the Victorian Heritage Act (2017), Aboriginal Heritage Act (2006) and the Victorian Planning and Environment Act (1987) to resolve and advise on projects; Proficient in preparing, Letters of Advice (LoA), Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMP) and Preliminary Aboriginal Heritage Test (PAHT), Historical Archaeological Advice and Historical Archaeological Assessments (HAA).
Ability to undertake archaeology research utilising multiple sources and methodologies to present accurate preliminary assessment of findings Why Urbis?
