Our Opportunity Location:  Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday-Friday   We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Approvals Scheduling Engineer to join our Technical Services team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Long Term Planning & Decarbonisation Studies, this role is responsible for carrying out scheduling activities to support the Mining Approvals process within the Iron Ore operations and Decarbonisation Projects portfolios.
To be successful in this role candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, with good understanding of both mining approvals and mine planning functions within the mining industry, including the technical and support functions that sustain these areas.
The candidate will also require strong project management skills, being able to articulate potential opportunities and risks within the planned works required for approvals, to the relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Co-ordinate mining approval inputs from Technical Services teams (Mine Planning, Geotechnical, Hydrogeology, Surface Water, Environment Geology etc) into the C&GE (Community & Government Engagement) team to support efficient and timely delivery of the mining approvals.
Planning and release of the technical inputs, objectively, efficiently, and effectively, by coordinating the deliverables from across a broad group of technical and support teams.
Host fortnightly site by site technical and managerial meetings to align priorities and update on Mining Proposal submission progress, creating a forum for collaborative discussion on upcoming work.
Coordinate meetings as required by various technical teams, to ensure lines of communication are always clear between teams, and are focused on deliverables being done on time.
Liaise with technical support functions to understand their requirements and their risk and opportunities as an input towards technical designs, to allow for a successful approval pathway.
The role will also interact with internal operational and functional stakeholders and will be expected to effectively communicate with these teams.
An ability to create processes, as the role evolves with documenting within the Anvil in-house data warehouse.
Qualifications and Experience Relevant Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mining, Environment or similar) Project Management qualification - desirable  Practical and solutions focused approach to mining approvals scheduling.
Experience in mine planning in project management.
Operational and site mine planning experience is desirable.
Experience in mining approvals (primary or secondary) is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with both operations and technical teams, across various departments within the business.
An ability to critically think and take initiative to solve problems in complex projects, to bring multiple disciplines to work together, to meet common goals Computer proficiency (Excel, MS Project, MS Office, Vulcan, Arc GIS).
Strong time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple project streams and deliver on key milestones as planned.
