This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 01099).
This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities.
There currently is one (1) permanent full time position available.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position provides investigative, paralegal and administrative support to the preparation of applications, warrants and authorities under the provisions of the relevant legislation.
This position contributes to the investigation and prosecution of offenders by facilitating the preparation and lodgement of application processes under the provisions of the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cth), Surveillance Devices Act 2004 (Cth), Surveillance Devices Act 1998 (WA) and Criminal Investigation (Covert Powers) Act 2012 (WA).
SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE
It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position.
Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 1 security clearance.
Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position.
Applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian Citizen prior to appointment.
It is a requirement of this position that the recommended applicants undertake a psychological assessment, and as an incumbent, agree to undergo periodical psychological assessments, as required.
APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants are asked to provide a statement of claim in no more than two (2) pages outlining your knowledge and previous experience in relation to the Essential Work Related Requirements specified in the attached Position Description Form.
Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills and experience relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements.
Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
OTHER CONDITIONS
In addition to the above mentioned vacancy, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the division.
This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment.
Applicants who are assessed as 'suitable' will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee.
Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
