Senior Fullstack Developer An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Fullstack Developer to join the Government Technologies Platform (GTP) team within Digital NSW.
The successful candidate will be an organised, collaborative and a proactive team player plus will perform a key role in providing efficient delivery of solutions for the benefit of NSW citizens.
Clerk Grade: 9/10 - base salary ranging from ($120,859 - $133,183) per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Employment Type: 2 x Temporary Full-time, 12 months opportunity. Location: Sydney, McKell. About the team
Government Technology Platforms (GTP) forms part of Digital NSW and delivers core and common digital capabilities and infrastructure solutions including cross sector leadership across NSW Government underpinned by the Digital Government Strategy. Our Digital Programs team within GTP is currently recruiting at scale to deliver on high profile and exciting large scale digital transformation programs.
Your day-to-day
In this hands-on role you will provide technical leadership by collaborating closely with team members and other teams in the NSW Government, in an Agile environment, applying lean problem-solving methods to deliver value within a complex ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities Develop native apps using React Native. Develop Fullstack solutions using ReactJs, NodeJs. Collaborate with software developers, business analysts and software architects in an agile setting to plan, design, develop, test, and sustain client solutions. Engage actively in daily standups, sprint planning meetings, retrospectives, and broader technical discussions to improve team and chapter collaboration. Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with client requirements. Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code, ensuring standards compliance and advocating for best practices in software development. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: Proficiency in Front-End Development:
Extensive experience with ReactJS and TypeScript, including advanced usage of HTML5 and CSS.
Strong expertise in React Native for building cross-platform applications. Back-End and Full-Stack Development:
Solid understanding and practical experience with Node.js.
Comprehensive knowledge of microservices architecture, including API and contract-driven design.
Familiarity with vitest, jest for unit testing.
Familiarity with E2E testing using Playwright. Database Management:
Strong working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Experience with non-relational databases, particularly Amazon DocumentDB. Cloud and DevOps Expertise:
Practical experience with AWS services, including Serverless, S3, EC2, and Amazon Cognito.
Proven experience in CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, with an understanding of DevOps principles.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration. Development Tools and Best Practices:
Hands-on experience with JIRA and GIT workflows for project management and version control.
Knowledge of security/code analysis tools such as Snyk (preferable).
Familiarity with logging and monitoring stacks such as ELK or similar (preferable). Collaborative and Agile Work Environment:
Previous experience working in a fully Agile software development environment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams. Additional Qualities:
A proactive, can-do approach with strong problem-solving skills.
