TechOps follows a squad/Spotify model – we form self-managing teams to solve key business problems. Each squad is full DevOps – they build, enhance, and operate their asset. Team members need to be 'specialist generalists', meaning each person brings their key domain knowledge but is also eager to work on other technologies or roles to ensure the squad meets its outcomes. To promote knowledge transfer, informal learning, and solve problems in new ways, we form Communities of Practices to push forward new tools and techniques.
The Senior Appian Developer role works in our Digital Solutions Agile squads. They will build and enhance new and existing solutions using Appian and be an active participant in our Community of Practice, growing to become a Technical Lead. Our operational systems landscape is across SAAS platforms and the cloud (AWS), and we love finding ways to use microservices architecture.
The role is accountable for achieving results through the squad – together we are strong, but you will provide technical analysis, estimation, design, development, implementation, and 3rd level support of IT applications and services, as well as engineering best practices and contributions to the IT architecture.
Responsibilities Design, develop and support primarily Appian solutions and integrations.Contribute to the IT architecture and produce designs for solutions in consultation with Solution Architects.Lead by example to champion and enforce good Appian design practices including:Design scalable Appian solutions, sharing best practices on building multiple solutions on the Appian platform.Continuous integration and automated deployments.Enable creation of automated unit and integration tests.Compliance with automated code quality analysis metrics and peer code reviews.Building a culture of high-quality development.Elaborate user stories with the PO. Develop and unit test these stories.Resolve operational bugs identified in production systems.Look at metrics to see improvement opportunities.Be an active participant in our Community of Practices to drive learning and innovation.Develop/maintain a culture which emphasizes continuous improvement, owning and solving problems, and innovation.Coach and develop team members wanting to grow Appian skills.Who you are Appian certified Senior or Lead Developer.Ability to Solution & integrate with multiple Technical Stacks including Appian, Java, AWS, APIs & Microservices, Oracle, Document Automation, CI/CD Pipelines, etc.You have a variety of experiences using the latest version of Appian to solve business problems.Strong proficiency in writing SAIL logic, designing process models, and interfaces.Aware of the latest Appian features like modern records and have used these in solutions.You think you will make a good solution architect – you see how things work end to end opposed to just what you do.Experience with design patterns and distributed systems.Have experience in integrating enterprise applications with Appian and creating web APIs in Appian.You get excited about how APIs can reduce the effort for our customers.You realize production support work is a great insight into what needs to be fixed in the next release (automation/improve the code, etc).Experience in working on Appian solutions with various databases like SQL Server, Maria DB, etc.CI/CD with tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and GoCD (or similar) interests you.You are disciplined with basics like version control with subversion/GIT or BitBucket.Good understanding of connectivity and messaging protocols such as SFTP, HTTPS, SOAP/REST, JMS, and TCP/IP.Knowledge of high scalability, high reliability, high availability, and n-tier architectural systems.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to learn new technologies quickly.Good verbal skills for stand-ups and want to share your opinions in retros.You think that your work is awesome, so you gladly show your work off in showcases.At Helia, we are building a team focused on opportunities: creating brighter futures for our people.
