Position Summary We are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animator and 3 D Generalist to join the team in creating cutting-edge visuals for our land-based games.
The primary role of the Senior Animator/3 D Generalist is to conceptualize and develop graphic content for games working in collaboration with the team.
They will provide various animation deliverables from character models, seamless looped win animations, game screen transitions, particle effects, and more, while striving for high quality and maintaining illustrative cohesion and functionality for game design.
Duties and Responsibilities: Develop character, prop, symbol, text, and UI animations using digital 2 D, 3 D, and motion design techniques for land-based slot game products.
In accordance with creative briefs, develop initial animation concepts and continue these through to final designs.
Assist with pre-production video and documentation.
Conversion and interpretation of 2 D concepts into textured 3 D models.
Liaise with team members to produce animation work to ensure artistic integrity and quality of assets.
Assist the Graphics Team Lead in providing mentorship and training in new tools and techniques to the team.
Help to identify and solve animation process and implementation issues.
Creation of marketing video and animations that align with existing branding and style guides.
Alongside Team, evaluate creative and technical approach for assigned shots.
Training and/or Experience: Previous experience working in an animation capacity, preferably within a game development studio.
Extensive training/experience in the use of digital art and animation software, including After Effects, Blender, Spine, Maya, 3 DS Max, or similar.
Expert knowledge in all tasks related to both 2 D and 3 D animation, including character animation, modeling, rigging, lighting, and texturing, as well as particle systems and motion graphics development.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of the requirements of animation within the Gaming industry, and traditional animation principles.
A critical eye for detail and ability to follow/maintain stringent guidelines.
Technical and creative problem solving with a can-do mindset.
Gaming industry/related experience preferred.
Experience, Education and Qualification: 5+ years of experience working in an animation capacity, preferably within a game development studio.
Extensive training/experience in the use of digital art and animation software, including After Effects, Photoshop, Blender, Spine, Maya, 3 DS Max, or similar.
Expert knowledge in all tasks related to both traditional and 3 D animation, including character animation, modeling, rigging, lighting, and texturing, as well as particle systems and motion graphics development.
Employment will also require sound traditional art skills.
Education: Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate art-related field are preferred, but not essential.
