About the role The Data and Analytics division supports prevention-led and client-centric decision making throughout WorkSafe. WorkSafe identifies data & analytics as a critical enabler of the Strategic Plan as it supports:
accurately targeting workplaces where the most serious injuries and fatalities are predicted to occur, enabling hazards to be identified and risks controlled before workers are harmedoptimal outcomes for injured workers by identifying, as early as possible, when an injured worker's recovery is not going to plan, enabling tailored recovery support to be provided to those most in needThe Senior Analytics Consultant is responsible for the analysis of data from a variety of sources including the provision of quantitative analysis, informing the design of statistical models, providing guidance on the interpretation of model outputs and advice and reporting on performance trends identifying emerging risk and opportunities across the enterprise. You will also have extensive experience leading the distillation of subsequent insights into key messages to support the objectives of executive stakeholders.
Key accountabilities: Provide Subject Matter Expertise on the distillation and translation of complex analytics and insights to an easy to understand manner for executive stakeholders.Lead analytics projects and initiatives including responsibility for delivering key components.Lead the development and provision of analytical services including working with stakeholders from other business units to translate business problems into technical requirements and deliver data driven insights and recommendations.Deliver guidance and advice that allows others to conduct performance measurement and program evaluation and leading responses to ad hoc requests for statistical analyses and insights.Embed statistical software tools and ensure optimisation of their capabilities across the team.About you You have a passion for supporting appropriate interpersonal relationships to internal and external networks with an ability to lead stakeholder engagement activities. You have well developed report writing and presentation skills with excellent time management and prioritisation. Further to making an impact on your team by delivering, you are able to work autonomously with limited guidance when required. Further, you also possess:
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to summarise complex technical concepts and statistical insights to a non-technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to problem solve, undertake effective research and analysis and produce complex statistical modelsDemonstrated ability to support other analysts and quality check their outputExtensive knowledge of key data sources and core systemsHighly proficient in ExcelProgramming experience within Python & SQL and/or similar languages (R, SAS, SPSS)A strong knowledge of and experience using data visualisation and reporting tools in day-to-day work (e.g. SAS VA, QlikSense) including experience designing, developing and implementing new initiativesAdvanced statistical, quantitative and/or financial modelling skills combined with a demonstrated capacity to innovate in developing solutions to business challengesQualifications:
