Do you want to play an instrumental role in improving outcomes for superannuation fund members?We're looking for professionals with demonstrated supervision and/or superannuation experience, to be involved in the critical role of supervising superannuation funds, including some of Australia's largest organisations.You will play a key role in driving initiatives that will support the uplift of risk capability and culture across the financial services sector and contributing to APRA's role as prudential regulator of financial institutions.We have permanent roles and 12 month fixed term contracts available.The Team and RoleAs a Superannuation Supervisor, you will undertake prudential supervision and risk assessment assignments across a number of supervised organisations, in order to achieve the APRA's objective of providing a prudentially sound financial system. You will work within a team as part of a collaborative National division, with responsibility for supervision of a portfolio of organisations.As the Senior Analyst you are responsible for identifying, exploring and rectifying prudential risks and issues in collaboration with other supervision teams and specialist risk teams.You will be joining a trusted, high-performing and collaborative team, who are accountable for delivering on supervisory strategies and action plans. The team aspire to be innovative in the way they supervise, transparent in the way they engage, and dynamic in their response to change.What your typical day will look likeAssessing the quality of the supervised organisation's risk management, strategies, practices and systems;Identifying issues and developments that may lead to serious problems and raising these as issues/concerns before they manifest;Maintaining an up to date and relevant knowledge of market issues that may impact on supervised organisations and may influence the depth of analysis of supervised organisations;Adapt style and process of supervision depending on the supervised organisation's type, size, complexity, functions and risk and be flexible to deal with the difference in approach; andAcquiring and developing a range of financial analysis and other supervisory skills to support high-quality analysis and risk assessment of supervised organisations.About youYou will have a positive mindset and an energetic approach to problem solving with a willingness to offer new ideas and a fresh perspective.Demonstrated experience in the superannuation industry;Strong financial analysis, investigative and research skills;Possess sound working knowledge of superannuation legislation and regulation;Excellent organisational, self and priority management skills;Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of business, and strong business acumen;Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline; andPrevious supervision experience, project or case management experience is not essential but would be highly regarded.About APRAThe Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) places you at the heart of Australia's financial services industry.
