Your New Role
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Construction and Strategy, this position is designed to develop quantitative tools and data visualisations to support the management of the Fixed Income sector portfolios and Sector Allocation process.
This includes data ingestion, storage, manipulation, analysis and visualisation using tools such as SQL/Azure/Python/Power BI.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities include:
Data Management and Analysis Leading the transformation of relevant data into different aggregated views of the portfolio.
This data may come from various sources including internal portfolio teams, JPM, Aladdin, Bloomberg or other external providers; Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that support business objectives; Using individual portfolio data (internal and external portfolios) to monitor how positions are changing, key risks are evolving, portfolio sensitivity to various macro factors, correlation between managers and to the overall portfolio.
Leading the development of tools to extract and store portfolio and risk data from Aladdin; Leading the development and maintenance of Python code for data analytics and systems development tasks; Utilising Power BI to create dynamic and visually appealing data visualizations and dashboards; Ensuring detailed code documentation is complete such that others can understand and adapt the code.
Report Development Leading the development of reports which summarise relevant data.
These reports should also be scheduled to run on a periodic basis (eg.
overnight) and disseminated in a structured manner across the team.
What You'll Need:
Several years' experience working within an institutional investment manager; Proficiency in SQL database environment; Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data analytics libraries such as Pandas and NumPy; Expertise in Power BI or similar data visualization tools; Knowledge of data science methodologies and best practices; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field; Experience in preparation and delivery of reports and/or research findings.
Experience with Azure database services; Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and statistical modelling is a plus; Experience in data analytics, database management, and systems development; Experience in using Aladdin for portfolio management, construction, risk, attribution etc.
