An exciting opportunity exists to join Queensland Revenue Office as a Senior Analyst - Level 2 in our Analytics Division. The Analytics Division has two core branches, Business Intelligence and the Data Centre of Excellence, which together, are responsible for supporting the integrity of the revenue system by providing advanced data analytics and business intelligence services across QRO and external client groups. In this role, you will be part of the Business Intelligence Branch. The role provides an opportunity to use your expertise and creativity to produce innovative, high impact reporting solutions.
As a Senior Analyst within our Data Provisioning team, you will report to the AO7 Principal Analyst and will lead a team of 2 direct reports.
You will work in a fast-paced and exciting environment where you will become part of an established and experienced team dedicated to delivering insightful and actionable data-driven solutions.
Your typical day might include:
Utilising data analysis tools (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, SAP Analytics Cloud, Data Bricks, Data Factory) to extract and analyse datasets, including confidential and protected data from a range of sources.Conducting data-driven investigations to support innovation and improvement initiatives.Oversee data quality and integrity, ensuring confidentiality and security requirements are met.Assisting in the development, review and evaluation of data and reporting methodologies to identify improvements to processes.Investigating and providing innovative data analytic techniques that will support innovation and QRO initiatives.Providing high-level service and insights to stakeholders, ensuring that all data outputs meet agreed requirements and timelines.To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
Experience in processing and analysing data - a high level of competency in SQL and data analytic/integration tools (e.g. Excel, PowerBI, Alteryx, SAP Analytics Cloud, Data Factory, Data Bricks).Experience in preparing, presenting and reviewing timely information, reports, submissions, and documentation of a complex nature.Ability to apply effective judgement, communication and understanding of perspectives in developing solutions and working with others.Ability to liaise, negotiate and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with customers and management.Ability to think critically, prioritise and organise tasks for completion in a time pressured environment.Joining QRO you will have opportunities for continued learning, growth and career development.
