Transport Analysis Unit provides transport intelligence, data insight and assurance services including modelling, data collection, preparation and analysis, statistical consultancy and survey design.
In the role of Senior Analyst (Integrated Performance and Insight) you will support transport analyses including integrated analysis, integrated performance and insights to deliver transport outcomes for Queensland. Some of your responsibilities will include:
Apply multi-modal network performance, reporting and data analysis to develop insights that support policy, planning and investment decision-making across TMR. This includes advice and coordination around the use of government data to analyse performance and coordinating the use of third-party data such as telematic and mobility data sources, to extend TMR's capability. Provide technical expertise in data analysis and visualisation techniques and tools relevant to transport decision making, including specialist software and programming language such as Alteryx, Tableau, Python and SQL.  Prepare visualisations, reports, presentations and briefings on transport problems, trends and opportunities to support policy, planning and investment activities. The communication of complex information to non-technical people both orally and in writing. Consult with stakeholders and incorporate stakeholder feedback in the development of deliverables. Work collaboratively with other units within TMR to promote departmental goals and achieve outcomes for stakeholders.  Plan, manage and deliver projects in line with team's objectives, ensuring timeframes, cost, project governance requirements are met.  About you

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: Mandatory and Desirable requirements
Mandatory: Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Desirable: A degree from a recognised tertiary institution in data science, geospatial science, information technology, engineering, mathematics, economics, or an equivalent qualification. Desirable: Familiarity with any of the following technologies: cloud-enabled BI/visualisation software (for example, Tableau), ETL software (for example, Alteryx), programming languages (for example, Python and SQL), cloud platforms (eg, Amazon Web Services). Requirements of the role
Applies skills in data analysis and visualisation.  Have experience with developing performance metrics and performance reporting Carefully considers the use of new and existing data sources taking care to identify limitations, and to take into account already known limitations.  Displays rigour in analysis such as ensuring that you test and validate the integrity of analysis, and that you know and can report the quality and accuracy of your conclusions.
