About the role: This role supports the Mental Health and Wellbeing Division in understanding, using and reporting on service system performance data for new and existing program delivery in the mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) health sectors. Working within a small team of analysts, and areas across the department, this role also supports the measures development and refinement for mental health and AOD performance measures and leading analytical projects that connect data from multiple sources to answer one or more policy implementation questions.
Reporting to the Manager, Evidence and Insights, this role will also support unit-wide capability development in the use of different analytical tools and processes that enables innovative solutions to be delivered that meets the short- and long-term organisational needs.
To be successful in this role, you will be a high performing team member with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills and a proven ability to work within a team environment and given timeframes.

How you'll make a difference: Design and undertake analysis, modelling and forecasting of mental health and AOD system performance that will inform strategic commissioning, service design and system management of relevant health service.Undertake investigations of business data sets and evaluate data from multiple sources to identify emerging issues, risk and trends impacting implementation of system reforms and service performance.Develop high quality reports, briefings and business intelligence products for a range of internal and external stakeholders to support service quality and improvement initiatives.Provide expert advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of data; identify current and future data requirements; and collaborate with key stakeholders to improve data and information capture, sharing, quality and management.Support measure development and reporting for the new Mental Health and Wellbeing Outcomes and Performance FrameworkEstablish and maintain effective working relationships across the department and work in collaboration with key stakeholders.Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situationsKeep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.To learn more please click 'Apply' to view the Position Description on the Careers.vic website.
