As
Senior Analyst Business Innovation and Support , you will be responsible for managing the processes specific to the maintenance, development, and evolution of the Qantas flight planning system and its associated components. This role will also provide specialist domain knowledge and will work closely with vendors and stakeholders to ensure the ongoing and continuous support of the Flight Planning System.
Additionally, the role of
Senior Analyst Business Innovation and Support
will also be responsible for the identification of events leading to system failures, rectification, and reporting of such events as required to support and ensure the continuous availability of the Constellation Flight Planning system.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills & experience:
Experience working in the aviation domain, preferably as a Commercial Pilot, Flight Dispatcher, or Air Traffic Controller.
Must possess a comprehensive understanding of flight planning systems and their various components, including but not limited to navigation, weather integration, fuel optimization, and air traffic control coordination.
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., ICAO, CASA) and experience integrating live data sources—such as weather information, NOTAMs, and airspace restrictions—into flight planning workflows.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with one or more industry-leading vendors or platforms in the areas of
Aviation Information Management (AIM) ,
Flight Planning Applications , or
Flight Optimization Systems .
Experience using collaboration platforms like JIRA and Confluence to effectively document, track, and manage project stories, tasks, and workflows is desirable.
Familiarity with flight planning automation, performance prediction tools, and efficiency-enhancing features is highly desirable.
Demonstrates a high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and accountability, with a proven track record of successfully managing tasks and responsibilities with minimal oversight.
Detailed system knowledge of flight planning systems and the associated components.
High levels of written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven ability to apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify, address, and lead the resolution of complex strategic challenges.
Temperament suited to working with people from differing backgrounds.
Experience in Change Management and the ability to lead people through changes in business processes.
A strong people focus, with the ability to invest in Learning & Development, and continuous improvement.
