At the ACCC, we believe the best version of you is the one that's true to who you are – and that's the you we want working alongside us.We value flexibility, and all roles can be performed from any capital city in a state or territory or Townsville and are available on a full-time, part-time or job-share basis.Applicants from diverse backgrounds including First Nations peoples, people with disability and those from different cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.What You Will Do As a Senior AnalystResearch and analyse competition and policy issues in relevant markets.Research and interpret relevant legislation and policy frameworks.Analyse data sets of pricing, cost, and other information, including through the use of data analytics programs.Gather data and information using a range of techniques, including preparing and using statutory s95ZK notices, and exercising judgement to identify the best sources of such information.Draft documents, including public report chapters, correspondence, and briefings.Prepare analysis, reports, briefs, and recommendations for consideration by senior management and Commissioners.Liaise with industry, government agencies, and consumer representatives.Brief and work with economic, industry expert and legal advisers.About YouIn order to succeed in the role, you will have:Experience with, or an ability to quickly develop an understanding of, the essential services and infrastructure markets that are examined by the Division, and how they work.Experience with, or an understanding of, economic regulation, policy, or compliance activities.Demonstrated quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills, including the analysis of complex datasets containing commercially sensitive information (experience with data analytics tools would be well regarded).High quality written and oral communication skills, with an ability to convey complex and technical material clearly and accurately.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.Tertiary qualifications in law, economics, commerce, finance, mathematics, or similar fields are desirable but not essential.To find out more about us and the role, please read the Candidate Kit.How To ApplyYou will be asked to answer two behavioural questions (refer to the Candidate Kit) and submit your resume with key outcomes or what you are most proud of in each role you have held (2 pages maximum).Salary$95,917 - $107,505 (plus 15.4% superannuation)Contact OfficerMichael Eady, 03 9290 1945Applications Close11:00pm (AEST), Sunday 29 September 2024
