Location: The Older Persons Mental Health Service's (OPMHS) Roy Fagan Centre is Tasmania's specialised facility to assess and treat elderly persons with mental illness and dementia. This position will play a key role in the leadership of the Roy Fagan Centre's activities and Day Centre, in partnership with the OPMHS management team.
The role: Provide clinical expertise in contemporary mental health care, promoting professional standards of practice and an environment conducive to innovation and change that promotes best practice and meets established accreditation standards of practice.Undertake and provide leadership, direction and change management to facilitate reform agendas and associated models of care, including new and existing relevant service policies, procedures and guidelines.Maintain and display advanced clinical practice skills within mental health care and act as a resource person to other members of the multidisciplinary teams in the management of complex issues.In collaboration with the multidisciplinary teams, provide specialist mental health assessments and intensive treatment, using recognised assessment methods and evidenced based interventions. This position will play a key role in the leadership of the Roy Fagan Centre's activities and Day Centre, in partnership with the OPMHS management team.
The role will provide professional supervision of other AHP staff in the Roy Fagan Centre and Older Person's Mental Health Community Teams.
Details of Appointment Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Salary: $120,114 to $130,181 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Please note that access to salaries beyond $126,845 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme Salary range is in accordance withAllied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022 Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia and Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia; or
Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is eligible for membership with the AASW

Holds, or is working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications
