We are currently seeking to appoint our next greatSenior Air Quality Consultant level hire to join our national Atmospheric Services team.
The location is flexible and can be based in our Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane or Perth office with the option towork from home 2-3 days per week when you're not required on site.
You will have the opportunity to deliver stimulating air quality and greenhouse gas projects across Australia with the support of a highly experienced network of local and international colleagues. The WSP Atmospheric Services team works closely with our clients to provide services all around Australia for source measurement, ambient monitoring, and impact assessment of meteorology, air quality, odour and greenhouse gases.
Day to day, you will:
Conduct technical studies related to air quality, greenhouse gas, and odour emissions Perform air quality and odour dispersion modelling Prepare air quality and greenhouse gas components for environmental impact assessment reports Supervise or conduct laboratory and field work, including NATA-accredited air quality and odour sampling and analysis, emissions measurement, source testing, and air quality and meteorological monitoring Develop and maintain specialised consulting services in areas like air quality, climate change, sustainability, risk assessment, and odour and amenity Prepare proposals and cost estimates for air quality projects Act as Project Manager or Director for moderate to high-complexity projects Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, regulators, and stakeholders Provide career development and mentoring to junior team members Identify regional business development opportunities and technical innovations Deliver technical presentations at industry or trade conferences in Australia and Internationally (e.g., CASANZ and AWMA conferences) You'll get to work on an exciting and diverse range of projects. Land Development, Property & Buildings Manufacturing Mining Oil and Gas Power Transportation (Road, Rail, Aviation, Maritime and Multi-modal) Water & Waste (including EfW facilities) Defence What we'll love about you
You are a self-starter and a team player, and you have a keen interest in further developing your skills in Air Quality, greenhouse gas and odour emission consulting.
You will also bring the following knowledge and attributes:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in air quality consulting Proficient with modelling software WRF, TAPM, AERMOD, CALPUFF, GRAL/GRAMM and/or data analysis with Python, R or MATLAB. Current, valid driver's licence and willingness to travel Good analytical skills and attention to detail Tertiary education in chemical, civil, mechanical, physics or environmental science/engineering Graduate degree in meteorology, air quality or a related scientific discipline will be highly regarded Have project management experience and the ability to develop further this skill set with support from experienced senior team members About WSP
