Rombola Family Farms encompasses over 4,000 hectares of intensive irrigated horticultural production at Griffith (NSW), Bundaberg (QLD) and Mataranka (NT).
Agricultural enterprises include Seedless Watermelon, Rockmelons, Broccoli, Pumpkin, Almonds and Winegrapes.
Operations include primary production, processing, value adding and marketing.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Agronomist to join our team in Mataranka, NT.
Overseeing our entire agronomy function this role will involve regular travel interstate to cover our three unique growing regions.
You will work alongside our production and supply chain teams providing strategic guidance on varietal selection, production schedules, irrigation, nutrition, weed, pest, and disease control practises.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and precision agriculture, a deep understanding of agronomy and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the future of farming.
Key accountabilities include: Collaborate with the production team to analyse field data, assess crop health, and identify areas for improvement.Implement and manage precision agriculture technologies, drone mapping, remote sensing, and data analytics tools.Develop and execute customized agronomic plans to optimize crop yields and resource utilization.Conduct soil and crop health assessments and recommend appropriate soil amendments and treatments.Monitor and interpret data from various sensors and technology platforms to provide actionable insights to the production team.Stay updated on the latest advancements in agriculture and incorporate innovative practices into our solutions.Provide training and support to the production team and agronomic consultants on agronomy principles and practices, and the use of precision technology tools.Build and maintain strong relationships with the production team, and industry stakeholders.To be successful in the role you will possess the following: Degree level qualifications in Agricultural Science or a related scientific discipline.A strong understanding of crop production practices.Passion for precision technology and a strong aptitude for working with data-driven solutions.Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS software, and remote sensing tools.Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively convey complex agronomic concepts to diverse audiences.Ability to influence and reason with farm managers regarding farming practice to achieve higher productivity and profitability.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology trends.Ability to develop work plans and achieve the goals of these work plans.Advanced computer literacy.Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to travel to farms and field locations as needed.Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets.Sound working knowledge of WH&S requirements.In return we offer you: An attractive remuneration package.Opportunities for professional development and advancement.A supportive and collaborative work environment.The chance to make a meaningful impact on the future of agriculture.How to Apply: Please apply via the jotform link below.
