We're looking for a Senior Agricultural Economist who can:
Lead innovative projects to deliver high quality economic evaluations and communicate information that targets improved profitability and sustainability.Accept new challenges and work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.Use economics to solve problems and identify solutions for agricultural production activities, natural resource management initiatives and policy analysis.Job detailsPosition status: Fixed Term Temporary

As our Senior Agricultural Economist, you will: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships in multi-disciplinary teams with landholders, industry organisations, colleagues, natural resource management groups, universities and other government agencies.Develop bio-economic models and use other economic analysis methods to assess agricultural production activities, natural resource management initiatives and policy analysis.Utilise and provide training to stakeholders in the use of DPI economic decision support tools (e.g. www.featonline.com.au).Use computer and scientific technologies to analyse data and produce reports in a timely manner to meet project milestones and management needs.Provide advice and direction to management and stakeholders to improve service delivery and ensure quality outcomes.Lead projects to deliver high quality economic evaluations and communicate information that targets improved profitability and sustainability.Supervise and mentor staff to meet project requirements and assist in the professional development of regional economists.Develop and implement new projects and collaborative service delivery partnerships targeting improved competitiveness and sustainability within agricultural sectors.You will be required to undertake overnight travel to fulfil certain tasks. The role will require frequent travel to regional areas.You may also have: Experience in dealing with the agricultural sector and primary producers will be highly regarded.
