Your Opportunity

As the Agile Scrum Master in a small software development and support team, you will be a key resource dedicated to ensuring the continued integrity and performance of the ECQ's in-house Critical Election Systems (CES). You will work closely with the product owner, development team and infrastructure team to ensure those systems are maintained as election-ready and continue to align with the ECQ's strategic direction, and to rapidly respond to emergent issues.

This role will report to the Team Lead, Product Management and will be responsible for delivering an Agile Scrum methodology for the team, with no reports.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and champion the application of Agile Scrum methodology to the ECQ's Software Development Lifecycle through the application of leadership, guidance, and facilitation.Lead and facilitate new scrum events including daily standups and retrospectives.Build and maintain effective working relationships across the team while monitoring and driving team progress against software development objectives, helping to manage conflicts and remove obstacles to maximise success.Consult and coach the broader team, and at times the wider ECQ, in the pragmatic application of Scrum and Agile methodologies, uplifting capability and awareness.Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and other testing activities as required to ensure stakeholder satisfaction through the continued integrity of the ECQ's CES.Assist Product Owners and Business Analysts to provide application support to end-users; assist in resolving issues, provide guidance, and ensure that end-users have a positive experience.Manage and analyse feedback continuously from internal ECQ stakeholders to perform assurance reviews to make recommendations for continuous improvement and risk reduction of the team's processes and priorities.Continually promote and contribute to a risk-aware culture to promote best practice processes.Generate and maintain quality files, records, and reference material relating to the planning, performance, and outcomes as key processes for the role.Fulfill the role of release manager as required and support the broader team.Desirable Qualifications The following qualifications will be highly regarded:
Certification or demonstrated equivalent experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment.Certification or demonstrated equivalent experience in other Agile project delivery roles.Essential Attributes: At least two years prior experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment (private or public industry).A strong understanding of Agile, its behaviours, tools (e.g., Jira), and techniques.Highly Regarded Attributes: Experience working in teams designing and maintaining complex systems, while providing expert knowledge to drive expected outcomes.Detailed knowledge of relevant design standards, techniques, and methods, used to deliver complex Agile projects and high familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.A passion for timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions that meet the needs of the business and its stakeholders.A strong customer focus supported by highly effective communication and collaboration skills.An ability to self-manage and quickly adapt to changing priorities and requirements to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Knowledge of project management principles including risk and schedule management.Possesses a strong understanding of release processes, including version control, deployment strategies, and branch management across multiple environments.What we are looking for The Queensland Public Service Leadership Competencies for Queensland apply to all positions within the ECQ.
