THE ROLE:
Austrade has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Wellbeing and Work Health and Safety (WHS) leader to join our People Branch team.
In this role you will use your knowledge, experience and expertise to implement the agency's Wellbeing and WHS strategy and direction.
You will be responsible for driving key initiatives aligned to our Wellbeing strategy, health and injury case management, WHS risk management, promoting and enhancing our Employee Assistance Program and implementing innovations and processes to improve the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people.

DUTIES INCLUDE: Management and implementation of Austrade's Wellbeing Strategy including project management of key commitments and deliverables.Development and maintenance of the WHS Management System (WHSMS) and Rehabilitation Management System (RMS) including evaluating and continuously improving the systems to ensure compliance with WHS legislation through auditing, consultation and communication feedback mechanisms.Health, rehabilitation and injury management of health and injury matters including non-compensable matters, supporting early intervention, and management of complex workers compensation matters.Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver WHS and wellbeing support, coaching and training.Manage and promote the Employee Assistance Program across the agency.Develop communications articles to promote health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.Provide health and wellbeing support to Austrade workers through informal non-therapeutic conversations and referrals to support options available.Formulate detailed and informative data reports for the Executive team.Provide Health and Safety Committee secretariat support and oversee the coordination internal support networks for first aid, health and safety representatives and fire wardens in partnership with the Office Manager team.Liaise with Austrade's employee mental health network, ensuring leading mental health practices are in place and evaluated.Providing key internal stakeholders with your expert high level WHS advice, as well as acting as an escalation point for all WHS matters including complex, sensitive and confidential people matter issues.Monitor and ensure Austrade's WHS compliance under the legislation, regulated guidelines and relevant Australian standards and government policy.CLASSIFICATION: EL1

SALARY: $112,868 – $126,961
