Job No:2401251 Location:Geelong About the Role The Senior Advisor for Safeguarding & Incident Management sits within the Quality & Risk Team, reporting to the Manager of Quality & Risk. This senior position will play a key role in designing and implementing various safeguarding systems to ensure organisational compliance. Responsibilities include Meli's Safeguarding and Incident Management Frameworks, systems, training, and records management. Additionally, this role involves managing changes to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Client Incident Management System (CIMS) in line with organisational policy, and external regulatory and legislative requirements.
You will need experience leading Quality and Risk activity in a complex service environment. The Senior Advisor Safeguarding & Incident Management is responsible for undertaking a needs analysis and leading the work to design and implement the Meli approach, including the management of various mandatory obligations (including allegations of child abuse under the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Client Incident Management System (CIMS) the Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) Reportable Conduct Scheme), Child Safe Standards, and privacy legislation. As such, you will require strong communication skills to build relationships, evaluate options and develop clear guidance to support decision making.
The role has a specific focus ensuring incident reporting and management and safeguarding is embedded in every role at Meli to enable robust responses and maximise learning, quality, and practice improvement from incidents and feedback. This position will work closely with the Quality & Risk Team and various internal and external stakeholders.
