About Your Opportunity As the Senior Advisor Planning Approvals, you will lead a small team in the provision of high-level technical environment, heritage, and land use planning advice and support to Seqwater's Infrastructure Planning and Capital Delivery Group. You will be responsible for the delivery of complex projects in relation to their environmental, land use planning and heritage assessments and management. Critically, this will include the planning, coordination, and negotiation of approvals. You will work with internal and external stakeholders and represent Seqwater at external public forums and meetings in relation to the projects. You will be a key member of multi-disciplinary project teams, delivering Seqwater's major capital projects.
Key responsibilities: Lead environment, heritage and land use planning approval processes for delivery of critical infrastructure programs for Seqwater. This will include procurement and management of consultants for services such as technical inputs, peer review, and specialist advice. High-level negotiation with regulators on behalf of Seqwater. Balance Seqwater's needs of approvals for project delivery alongside the future management of approval conditions by Seqwater operations. Manage project business case stage inputs in relation to environment, heritage, land use planning, and legal/regulatory considerations. Facilitate site access and manage safety aspects of consultants. Promote a working environment that empowers staff to take ownership of their work, encourages innovative thinking, teamwork, enthusiasm and consultation. About you To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 years professional experience in development and/or project delivery in relation to environment approvals and development approvals generally. Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience in, environmental impact assessment and other assessments for development approvals. Comprehensive experience with primary approval processes such as Coordinated Project and Ministerial Infrastructure Designation. This position has a salary range of $132,491 - $142,924 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
