Our Telfer operation in Health, Safety and Risk is now recruiting for the position of Senior Advisor – Occupational Hygiene. Who we're looking for We are seeking an accomplished and resilient Senior Occupational Hygienist to join our Safety & Risk team at Telfer Operations in Western Australia.
In this role you will work alongside and supervise other Hygienists on the Telfer Mine Site.
Reporting to the Manager of Safety & Risk this challenging yet rewarding opportunity will see you utilise your expertise towards the protection and promotion of workers' health, and contribution to a safe and sustainable workforce.
The diverse operations across site and tasks of varying complexity will offer a multitude of challenges where no two days will be the same.
Other key deliverables of the role include:
Lead and maintain the Telfer Operations Hygiene Management PlanDevelop and maintain site Hygiene Risk Register and overseeing risk controls and corrective actionsEnsure the relevant hygiene documentation is reviewed regularly and managed in the Controlled Document Management System (CMS)Manage the Site Hygiene Sampling requirements in accordance with the standardsOversee Hygiene exceedance investigations and maintenance of incidents and investigationsTo succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in occupational hygiene principles, practice, and application.
As a motivated leader and self-starter, you will enjoy the autonomous nature of this role and will be encouraged to learn and broaden your skillset at all times.
In addition, you will also ideally have:
Tertiary qualification in the discipline of Occupational HygieneFull membership of the AIOH and be a Certified Occupational Hygienist (preferable)Demonstrated experience in a similar role with specific knowledge of Occupational Hygiene management, preferably within mining environment for a minimum of 7+ years post-graduationStrong leadership abilities with experience in managing and leading hygiene programs and teams effectively in a challenging environment.Experience with strategic risk management and exceedance incident investigationsKnowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety Act and Work Health and Safety (Mines) RegulationsHighly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex project plans, written reports and presentationsDMIRS-approved Noise Officer CourseProven experience implementing, executing, and supporting site hygiene programsUnderstanding/exposure to Occupational Hygiene practices, processes, and disciplinesPlease note: This is a permanent role that will work on a FIFO (8/6), flying out of Perth. To succeed in this role, you will be a forward-looking team leader with excellent work-ethics and a passion for continuous improvement.
Your ability to communicate effectively and collaborate at all levels in the organisation will work towards achievement of desired outcomes and engagement of your team and key stakeholders.
