Purpose of the role The Senior Advisor, Implementation (ECEC) is responsible for leading key functions within the AERO Engagement and Impact Early Childhood Division regarding how AERO encourages the effective implementation of evidence-based practices in Australian early childhood services.
These functions include, building internal capability and coherence on evidence-informed implementation approaches and advising on guidance to support services to implement evidence-based practices.
Accountabilities:
Work closely with the ECEC Implementation team to build and maintain a thorough understanding of our approach to the implementation of evidence-based practices and implications of project learnings and evaluation findings. Use implementation expertise and key project learnings to provide advisory support to other AERO ECEC project teams and divisions who are working towards the implementation of evidence-based practices. Lead the development of content that effectively captures and promotes implementation research, project learnings, evaluation findings and stories from services and work with other roles and teams in AERO to design and deliver effectively. Lead the review of content to adapt and build on ECEC resources, to ensure guidance for implementation is informed by implementation-related research, project learnings and evaluation findings. Keep abreast of implementation science research and other literature and projects as they relate to the effective implementation of evidence in ECEC settings and support the ongoing capability building of AERO staff on this. Provide day-to-day management of implementation functions, in collaboration with the Manager, Implementation (ECEC), and provide timely updates to the Director, Engagement and Impact (ECEC), including issues that need to be, or have been addressed, and implications for AERO's implementation strategy. Prepare papers and submissions to the Executive and Board as required. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and / or advanced knowledge of, or experience in, implementation science, behaviour change, professional learning, evidence use and/or evidence-based practices. Proven experience in research translation with a demonstrated ability to adapt academic research for different stakeholders in the early childhood sector. Knowledge and Experience:
Experience in early childhood education, education-related projects and/or working with early childhood services Experience with research translation. Experience leading complex functions, understanding different stakeholder needs, monitoring progress and adapting as required. Experience working collegially with multiple teams and providing advice and support as needed. Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for establishing positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and negotiating and influencing when required. Excellent written skills for internal and external communications, content development, report writing and resource development. Capacity to take initiative, work with ambiguity and develop strategies to prevent or overcome issues.
