About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven HSE Advisor to join our diverse and inclusive team in the Surat Basin, Queensland. In this role, you will provide visible leadership to build HSE capabilities across the field team. Partnering with the Field Operations Team, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE processes and practices, provide specialist advice, and deliver training and coaching. The ideal candidate will be proficient in HSE risk management, assurance, and be able to drive a high-performing, positive, and proactive workplace culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide visible health, safety, and environment leadership, encouraging risk-based thinking and a learning mindset to ensure safety, health, and environment remain key focuses.Offer specialist HSE advice, coaching, training, and support to frontline staff in safety conversations, risk assessment, control verifications, assurance, and implementation of the HSE management system.Support incident management, including leading or assisting with 5 whys, full investigations, and developing and implementing learning packs.Collaborate closely with Contract Owners and Contractor HSE Advisors to identify risks and undertake assurance.Monitor HSE performance metrics to identify trends and improvements.Support the development and implementation of the strategic plan, including creating materials to communicate improvements and leading program implementation.Foster a strong safety culture while achieving team objectives.What You'll BringDegree Qualified HSE Professional with a minimum of 7 years' experience working in a high-risk environment.Process driven with sound knowledge and ability using HSE compliance management systems and software.Operational focus with previous experience in a Health, Safety & Environment role and working knowledge of applicable HSE legislation.Proficiency in risk assessment and assurance/auditing techniques and processes, with a practical and hands-on approach.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to partner with people at all levels in the organization, source information, provide clear advice, coach, and influence team members.Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage conflicting and changing priorities in line with business objectives and targets.A self-starter who can take initiative and operate effectively, logically, and safely under pressure.Origin - Where good change happens At Origin, we're powered by people who believe in creating change.
