The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has responsibility for addressing a range of hazards and challenges that could affect Queensland's transport network, its operations and its important infrastructure.
Support TMR to enable its emergency management processes within a prevent, prepare, respond and recover framework.

Fortnightly salary: $4466.90 - $4779.30
Job duration: Until 5 December 2025 with possible extension
You will engage with stakeholders and operate within a collaborative, all-hazards resilience framework providing assurance the department is well positioned to meet its functional responsibilities under Queensland's disaster management arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
Foster relationships with stakeholders in emergency management and business continuity.
Offer expert advice and create documents on emergency management and business continuity.
Assess and refine emergency planning and readiness for disruptive events.
Develop and test emergency management scenarios with stakeholder collaboration.
Manage systems to optimise TMR's response to and recovery from disruptions.
We're looking for someone who:
Has exceptional communication skills for clear correspondence and engaging with senior leaders and stakeholders.
Excels in building and nurturing professional relationships both within and outside the organisation.
Upholds sound governance and adheres to high standards in risk management.
Applies analytical abilities to keep staff aware of current issues, with a solid understanding of and adherence to legislation and policy frameworks.
You must:
Consent to undertaking a criminal history check prior to commencing employment.
Hold a current drivers license.
If a critical incident is declared, you may be required to work on a 24/7 rotating roster in support of the State Disaster Coordination Centre or any other location as determined.
Standard hours of work for the position is 36.25 hours per week.
The incumbent may be required to work outside standard working hours and on-call as required due to the nature of the business.
The availability to contribute to the roster to perform the 24/7 watch function.
