This position is responsible for coordinating prison capacity and transfer processes, inclusive of case managing prisoners who are found to be difficult to place across the state, coordinating the demand for prisoner beds, the intake of prisoners from the watch houses, and leading interstate, international transfers and specialised transfer and escort processes including the management of prisoner escorts for Mental Health custody and the assessment and evaluation of transfer applications in accordance with relevant legislation.
The essential requirements for this role are: Knowledge of contemporary correctional practicesUnderstanding of Queensland Corrective Services at a strategic and political levelExperience in preparing high quality reports, briefings, policy papers and submissionsExposure to operating in an executive environmentExperience in undertaking research and application of outcomes to better practiceRelationship managementDemonstrated workplace and emotional resilienceKnowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and proceduresAbility to motivate and encourage self and others to meet the challenges of demanding work rolesConceptual, analytical and problem solving skillsExperience working with sensitive or classified information.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
